“Change happens through movement and movement heals.”
- Joseph Pilates
“I sing the body electric!” Kimberly Smith could not agree more. Walt Whitman “praised the thrilling aspects of the human body,” precisely how Kimberly has felt for most of her life. She studied Communications, Theatre and Psychology in college, paying her way through school as a personal trainer and a surgical tech for orthopedic surgeons. Her passions have always been the stage, travel and great food. Years later, Kimberly returned to school to earn her Culinary Arts degree, which lead to more travel as a chef and caterer. She earned her nickname Gypsy by traveling through the US and Latin America, cooking in cities like Steamboat Springs, CO. and Chicago, IL and living for years in Mexico, Venezuela and Honduras. A debilitating, painful spinal injury kept her in and out of bed for nearly ten years, often interfering with work, travel and life despite her attempts to heal through conventional methods and exercise. Her travels finally landed her on Martha’s Vineyard, where fate would lead her to Pilates. Kimberly practiced Pilates and received Rolfing as rehabilitation, and after less than a year she was completely pain free! Her experience was so profound that she decided to train as an instructor and therapist. Studying with Stefan Knight on Martha’s Vineyard and The Pilates Center of Boulder, she received her certification in 2003, followed by her internationally recognized PMA certification in 2008. Always eager to keep learning, she has continued her studies in a variety of bodywork techniques including personal training, Yoga, Feldenkrais, Yamuna Body Rolling, Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and exercise anatomy. She is a certified Nutrition and Fitness Nutrition Coach as well, a perfect fit for her desire to health and her passion for cuisine. Guided by the individual needs of her clients, Kimberly uses safe and effective training and proven goal coaching techniques to assist her clients in achieving their fitness and nutritional goals. She loves people, is forever fascinated by observing human movement, and has been touched by the profound results Pilates brings to peoples' lives.

Pilates, or Contrology was created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates and his wife Clara in the early 1900s. This is a full body, comprehensive method of exercise that gives you physical life skills, teaches you how to integrate your body and manage your body in a healthful way. Strength, balance, alignment, broader range of motion, and increased circulation are benefits of this timeless, proven, 60 year old method, which leads to less injury, more flexibility, and reduced or eliminated chronic pain. Practiced by millions across the globe, Pilates combines deep core strengthening, stretching, coordination, control, balance, and efficient breathing to develop and create long, lean muscles and strong, flexible joints. It improves posture, helps establish graceful movement, increases metabolism, endurance, circulation, performance levels and body awareness. Pilates is proven to relieve and/or alleviate chronic pain caused by spinal injuries, diseases and dysfunctions, as well as conditions such as fibromyalgia and other chronic syndromes. Medical professionals continue to recognize Pilates as a source of injury and post surgical rehabilitation more and more every day. It is for all ages, all levels and EVERY BODY.
“You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.” -Joseph Pilates
True Health begins with how we treat ourselves. What we choose to nourish ourselves with defines our overall health and wellness. Eating is not only a source of energy, it is a method of self-care. We connect with family and friends over food, we celebrate achievements with food, we comfort ourselves with food, our cultures are celebrated with foods - the list of reasons for our food choices goes on and on. Together we’ll get to the root of these relationships with food. We’ll decide which relationships are healthier and develop a new way of eating that nourishes and supports you and your goals. We’ll discover ways the food can nourish and provide joy, rather than weigh you down and bring shame and anxiety. Bodies exist naturally in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Rather than fighting nature, we will work on behaviors and attitudes that support your health, allowing your body to settle into where it’s supposed to be. No matter your size, your body is worthy of being taken care of and respected as it is today. My goal is to help you live a happier, healthier life!
Goal setting is a powerful way to manifest your ideal future and to motivate yourself to turn this vision of your future into a reality. By setting sharp, clear, defined goals you can measure your achievements, see your forward progress in the murk of the grind, and gain self-confidence as you witness your accomplishments. Together will determine your why, then set SMART goals based on your desires for your future. We’ll wade through the details to determine what is important and what can be discarded, build on your successes and celebrate your wins!
Whatever our fitness goals are, we can often become overwhelmed by the desire for change and the challenges to execute change. Together we will customize a plan that provides you with support and accountability to help you stay on track and meet your fitness goals! I’ll tailor your plan to meet your specific needs while maximizing results and minimizing injuries in time efficient, fun and challenging ways. Each exercise will be explained and demonstrated to avoid injury and help you achieve the desired results.
"The use of essential oils is rapidly becoming a popular source for those looking for an alternative way of taking their own health and wellness. I completely agree - essential oils and herbs can enhance our state of wellness at times when applied/diffused in a knowledgeable and safe way. With this rising interest comes a great deal of misinformation, which can and has led to some very serious injury. It is my desire and intent to help people safely discover the wonderful and safe uses of essential oils.
